Art & Ciocc, the travelling chocolate artisans event

2

Art & Ciocc is one of the most popular events for chocolate lovers. It’s a travelling event, that gladdens and attracts hundreds of people. At the end of November I attended the Padua Art e Ciocc event, visiting a lot of stands, taking info and also taking with me some chocolate samples.

Along the central streets of my city, 45 stands displayed all kinds of chocolate temptations, from several Italian regions: Veneto, Piedmont, Lombardy, Umbria, Lazio, Calabria, Sicily.

Chocolate covered candied orange peels, pralines, nougats, chocolate bars of all size, bon bons, chocolate sculptures. A feast for the eyes and for the appetite.

There were also two stands, Bean to bar and Ciokofabbrica, where a chocolate master showed the visitors the different phases of chocolate processing.

During the 4 days event, there were also cooking demonstrations regarding the alternative use of cocoa in food preparation. For example cocoa ravioli filled with gorgonzola and herbs.

Interesting were the stand presenting raw chocolate (they also had chocolate tagliatelle) or the stand selling 50 different chocolate bars (chosen from the 120 types they produce). They had cinnamon, orange, coconut but also onion or basil chocolate.

You have time to go on a chocolate binge in other Italian towns, just check the program of  Art e Ciocc at www.iltourdeicioccolatieri.com.
